On board the 31 ft vessel “Gentoo of Antarctica”, yachtsman, and adventurer, Adrian Cross is on a global challenge to share with others, his journey through life and into the world’s last great wilderness, Antarctica.

The story starts as a boy, after leaving home at fifteen, on the deck of the Aircraft Carrier HMS Hermes. A life of focus, determination, and becoming the leader of a team; a team that sailed by yacht into Antarctica to help with another man’s dream.

That man, with the dream, was British polar explorer and environmentalist Robert Swan.

  • A man who has walked to both ends of the Earth.

  • A man who peered into the crevasse of eternity, and then came back to try and tell the world what he had seen, “Mission Antarctica

Adrian recalls the awesome silence while drifting in a dinghy for two hours among hundreds of icebergs, overcome by what he described as the most breathtaking view in the world.

His talks have been and will be used to inspire school leavers, motivate employees, and to drive home a message, about the Antarctic and its environmental problems.

Adrian’s involvement with the project was the catalyst and the inspiration for his next adventure, a three and a half year circumnavigation of the world. "Operation Snowbird”, aims to tell the story about the need to preserve the remotest continent on earth.

Presently undergoing a major refit, his tiny vessel, "Gentoo of Antarctica",  named after a penguin prepares for a mid summer departure. For details of Adrian's route, click here.
