There are several Global weather systems that will affect Adrians route planning. They are as follows:

  • Hurricanes

  • Typhoons

  • Tropical Revolving Storms.

They become prevalent at the following times:

North West Pacific 1 May - 30 Nov
North Atlantic & Pacific 15 May - 30 Nov
North Indian Whenever active
Southwest Indian 1 Nov - 30 April
South Pacific & South East Indian 1 Nov - 30 April

Most of these storms never manage to make landfall, which means that during the hurricane season most storms go unreported. So Adrians strategy will be to cross these areas well outside these dates. This will cause some delays in any scheduling, and deviations to any planned routes will be inevitable.

Tropical revolving storms can be tracked on the internet by visiting any of the many Hurricane Prediction centres worldwide, or in the Atlantic you can watch one grow and disperse from a satellite updated every few hours by visiting www.nottingham.ac.uk/meteosat/
